LEA students beat international cricketers

Muhi Mikdad

PUPILS AT THE London Enterprise Academy in Tower Hamlets had the privilege – and pleasure – of meeting three international cricketers on Thursday, 30th June.

The cricketers play in Bangladesh’s national test squad. They are: Mohammed Ashraful (former captain); Tanbir Hayder (spin bowler); and Mohammed Enamul Haque Jr (all-rounder).  The pupils enjoyed learning about their passions, the travel which cricket has made possible for them, the discipline needed to be an international player – and their celebrity lifestyles.

Sadly there was no space in the schedule for a school/celebrity Test Match that day – but this did not stop the enterprising students, who challenged their visitors to a game of table tennis. This was a challenge too far for the cricketers, and the students emerged victorious!
